Centrifugal Fans, Forward Curved, Technical Features Overview

Higher Air Pressure with Lower Noise and Power Consumption

PBM centrifugal fans with forward curved impeller designed as freewheels fans, with and without scroll housing optional.
The fans could be installed at any directions by extremely compact size, and optimized output air performance without scroll housing necessary to lower noise at customer requested higher air pressure output in their ventilation duct system or unit box of different materials, such as galvanized metal, aluminum, copper, PE, PVC, polyfoam etc.
AC and DC power supply are available for entire range of fans with integrated and intelligence EC technology motor with inside or outside mounted international standard remote control R485 communication protocol that’s suitable to be adopted in IoE(Internet of Everything), IoT(Internet of Things), smart home system, Industry 4.0 and committed to Carbon Neutrality climate change by reducing customers carbon footprints.
PFC(Power Factor Correction), up to λ>96%, is optional for electricity grad stabilization compliance in certain circumstances of applications.    ErP2015 (Energy-related Products) Directive conformity, COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) No 327/2011 of 30 March 2011 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to eco-design requirements for fans driven by motors with an electric input power between 125 W and 500 kW.

FAQ

  • How do I choose the right forward curved centrifugal fan?

    +
When selecting a forward curved centrifugal fan, buyers should consider:
    • Required airflow (CFM or m³/h)
    • Static pressure requirements
    • Installation space
    • Voltage and frequency
    • Noise limitations
    • AC or EC motor options
    • Operating environment
    • Energy efficiency requirements
  • What are the advantages of forward curved centrifugal fans?

    +
Forward curved centrifugal fans offer several benefits, including:
    • High airflow volume
    • Compact design
    • Low operating noise
    • Smooth airflow distribution
    • Easy integration into HVAC systems
    • Cost-effective ventilation solutions
These advantages make them widely used in commercial and light industrial ventilation equipment.
  • Can forward curved centrifugal fans be customized?

    +
Yes. Many manufacturers provide customized forward curved centrifugal fan solutions for OEM and industrial applications. Customization options may include:
    • Fan dimensions
    • Airflow and pressure performance
    • AC or EC motor configuration
    • Speed control systems
    • Voltage and frequency
    • Corrosion-resistant materials
    • Mounting structure
    • Noise optimization
Customized fans are widely used in HVAC equipment and specialized ventilation systems.
  • Where are forward curved centrifugal fans commonly used?

    +
Forward curved centrifugal fans are widely used in:
    • HVAC systems
    • Air handling units (AHU)
    • Fan coil units (FCU)
    • Commercial ventilation equipment
    • Air purification systems
    • Indoor air circulation systems
    • Refrigeration equipment
    • Electronic cooling systems
Their compact size and stable airflow make them ideal for space-limited applications.
  • What is the difference between forward and backward centrifugal fans?

    +

Forward curved centrifugal fans are designed for high airflow at lower static pressure, while backward curved centrifugal fans are generally more energy efficient and suitable for higher-pressure systems.

Forward curved fans are typically preferred for:

    • Compact HVAC equipment
    • Fan coil units
    • Air handling systems
    • Applications requiring lower noise
Backward curved fans are commonly used in industrial ventilation systems where higher efficiency and pressure capability are required.
