Duct Fan Technical Features Overview

PBM's duct fan drives the wind blade to rotate at high speed, forming a stable airflow power, realizing directional gas transmission, efficient exhaust gas emission or local airflow enhancement.  PBM integrates fluid mechanics optimization and intelligent control technology in the fan design to ensure that the equipment accurately matches the flow and pressure requirements of different scenarios under the conditions of low energy consumption and low noise, providing "breathing power" for industrial production and building environment.

According to the requirements of different scenarios, PBM provides four categories of pipeline fan products to meet the diversified applications:Inline Fan、Duct Fan、Split fan、Silent duct fan.

AC/DC powered centrifugal fans with intelligent EC motors feature built-in or external RS485 remote control, supporting integration into IoE, IoT, smart home, and Industry 4.0 systems. These solutions advance Carbon Neutrality goals by reducing carbon footprints.

Optional PFC (λ>96%) ensures grid stability compliance where required. All models meet ErP2015 Directive (EU 327/2011) for eco-design of 125W-500kW motor-driven fans.

FAQ

  • How do I choose the right duct fan?

    +
When selecting a duct fan, buyers should evaluate:
    • Required airflow (CFM or m³/h)
    • Static pressure requirements
    • Duct size and length
    • Installation environment
    • Noise limitations
    • AC or EC motor options
    • Energy efficiency goals
    • Operating temperature and humidity
Reviewing the fan performance curve is essential for accurate system matching.
  • What is the purpose of a duct fan?

    +
The primary purpose of a duct fan is to improve airflow efficiency within a ventilation system. Duct fans help:
    • Increase air circulation
    • Remove stale air and odors
    • Improve indoor air quality
    • Reduce heat and humidity buildup
    • Support HVAC system performance
    • Enhance ventilation efficiency in long duct systems
They are especially useful in spaces with insufficient natural airflow.
  • Can duct fans be customized?

    +
Yes. Many manufacturers offer customized duct fan solutions for OEM and industrial applications. Customization options may include:
    • Fan size and airflow performance
    • AC or EC motor configuration
    • Voltage and frequency
    • Speed control systems
    • IP protection ratings
    • Corrosion-resistant materials
    • Noise reduction optimization
    • Mounting structures
Customized duct fans are widely used in specialized ventilation and air handling systems.
  • Where are duct fans commonly used?

    +
Duct fans are widely used in:
    • HVAC systems
    • Commercial buildings
    • Industrial ventilation systems
    • Bathrooms and kitchens
    • Warehouses
    • Grow rooms and greenhouses
    • Data centers
    • Office buildings
    • Air purification systems
They are commonly installed where enhanced airflow and ventilation control are required.
  • What is the difference between an inline fan and a duct fan?

    +

An inline fan is a type of duct fan installed directly inside the duct system. In many applications, the terms "inline fan" and "duct fan" are used interchangeably.

However, “duct fan” is a broader category that may include:

    • Inline duct fans
    • Mixed flow duct fans
    • Centrifugal duct fans
    • Axial duct fans
Different duct fan types are selected based on airflow and static pressure requirements.
