FOCUS ON EC FAN ONLY
The performance standards for kitchen exhaust systems are constantly increasing due to the worldwide catering business. Commercial kitchen operators face the same challenge: how to achieve efficient, stable, and compliant oil fume emissions within constrained spaces, regardless of the strict fire safety and low-noise emission regulations in North America, the high emphasis on energy efficiency and system integration in Europe, or the stringent controls on oil fume emission concentration in China. In order to solve this issue, PBM has formally introduced Dual Inlet Blower fan made especially for high-end residential and commercial kitchen exhaust systems. It offers a dependable core power solution for clients worldwide because to its small size, high static pressure output, and oil-resistant qualities.
Clear technical direction for operators' equipment selection is provided by internationally recognized kitchen ventilation design standards (such as ASHRAE 154, EN 16282, etc.). In real projects, the static pressure margin of the fans is subject to much more stringent restrictions due to the combined resistance of lengthy flues and fume extractors.
Our fans use a double-inlet volute structure in conjunction with forward curved centrifugal impeller. Air is drawn in from the impeller's center, thrown against the blades' concave surface under centrifugal force to create a high-speed airflow, and then the volute decelerates and diffuses the air, effectively converting dynamic pressure into static pressure and producing a powerful and stable airflow. It can readily handle the exhaust requirements of long-distance flues thanks to its structural design, which enables it to achieve high static pressure at very low speeds.
1. Oil-resistant, highly efficient impeller and structural design
The impeller of the PBM dual inlet centrifugal blower has 38 forward-curved blades and is composed of galvanized steel. By producing high static pressure at lower speeds, these forward-curved blades reduce mechanical noise and energy consumption at the source and do away with the necessity for high-speed motors in kitchen exhaust systems. Additionally, PBM has been specially designed for heavy oil fume situations. By modifying the blade angle and spacing to lessen oil mist accumulation on the impeller's concave surface, PBM makes daily maintenance easier and efficiently prolongs the fan's life in greasy conditions.
With an anticipated lifespan of 50,000 hours at room temperature, the NMB ball bearing system guarantees long-term reliable operation. It also has an IP44 protection certification, stall protection, polarity protection, and automatic restart features that make everyday maintenance simple.
2. Accurate Intelligent Speed Management and Adaptability
Exhaust needs in commercial kitchens are frequently dynamic; during peak hours, many burners run concurrently, necessitating a high exhaust output; during off-peak hours, speed can be lowered to balance energy conservation and silent operation. Our DC and EC fans may be optionally provided with speed detection signal output, which enables developers to accurately change fan output in real time based on actual exhaust volume. They also offer 0–10V analog voltage speed regulation and PWM pulse width modulation dual control. Because the entire series is compatible with 50/60Hz dual-frequency power supply systems, it can be widely adjusted to meet the matching specifications of commercial kitchen cooktops of export quality.
3. Low-Noise Operation Fulfilling Industry Requirements
The operating experience of commercial cooking facilities is significantly impacted by noise, an issue that is frequently disregarded. In commercial kitchen ventilation system design, it is typically advised that the total noise level of exhaust equipment be less than 75 dB. For instance, under 230V/50Hz settings, our PD3N146B2EH registered a noise level of 72 dB(A), which is both below the industry standard upper limit and within the same noise level range as centrifugal fan systems with simple silencers.
4. Comprehensive Certification System and Wide Environmental Adaptability
Our dual inlet fans can adapt to a variety of engineering scenarios, from low-temperature flues in cold locations to high-temperature culinary conditions. They can run steadily in a range of -25°C to 60°C, with a storage temperature range extending to -40°C to 75°C. With the ability to produce over 100,000 units annually, PBM has given this device several international safety certifications, including CE, UL, and RoHS. This guarantees consistent supply and delivery for large-scale purchases and offers dependable support for export kitchen appliance firms' entry to international markets.
During the design stage, our experts took into account the twin requirements of high-end residential and international commercial applications:
• Restaurant and Canteen Fume Treatment: Through parallel or independent configurations of multiple units, fume extraction systems for chain restaurant central kitchens, corporate canteens, hotel kitchens, and large shopping mall dining areas can achieve comprehensive fume extraction coverage even with complex stove configurations.
• Barbecue restaurants and industrial kitchens: Ideal for "strong smoke, high temperature, lengthy operation hours" situations, such as restaurants that serve roast duck and barbecue. In order to overcome public flues' positive pressure resistance and stop fume backflow, a forward-curved centrifugal exhaust design and a static pressure of 620 Pa are used.
• Renovation Projects for Quiet Commercial Kitchens: At a noise level of 72 dB, conventional belt-driven or high-power industrial frequency motor fume extraction systems frequently operate badly (A). Our dual-inlet volute fan may help projects comply with environmental rules without going overboard by taking the place of integrated fan cabinets or traditional axial flow fans.
• Commercial Kitchen Appliance Integration: These fans may be used as embedded core fan units by manufacturers of large integrated cooktops and fume extraction systems, assisting the main unit in achieving high-pressure fume extraction performance in a small package.
Additionally, this device achieves universal coverage in both domestic and foreign markets since it completely complies with the strict rules for fume emissions in Chinese commercial kitchens.
Global kitchen ventilation standards are moving toward increased efficiency, safety, and environmental friendliness, despite differences in focus. PBM, a company that has long concentrated on fan R&D and production, is dedicated to fusing energy-efficient, high-efficiency motor technology with precise fluid design to provide fan solutions that can adjust to challenging gas media and a variety of intricate operating situations.
In addition to offering commercial exhaust systems more competitive options in terms of static pressure, energy consumption, and durability, the introduction of this series of kitchen-specific dual-inlet volute fans also offers a workable technological path for the catering industry, which faces the twin challenges of environmental upgrades and customer experience improvements.
PBM will keep refining its kitchen-specific Dual Inlet Blower product line in the future to address the main issues with fume exhaust systems for more catering companies throughout the globe.
